100% ESOP owned G&T Industries, which is headquartered in Byron Center, Michigan has acquired substantially all the assets of Crane Interiors, Incorporated of Woodbury Tennessee. G&T is a multi-faceted manufacturing/distribution company which has been in business since 1954 serving the furniture, medical, packaging, military, and marine marketplaces. Crane Interiors has operated as a marine sewing/upholstery business for over 40 years, and under its current ownership structure since 1984. The business (Crane) moved from Nashville to the current location in Woodbury Tennessee in 1989.
The transaction closed on January 1, 2018. Crane Interiors will continue to operate out of the Woodbury Tennessee location serving customers with the same high quality and service that has made Crane a premier brand name in the marine upholstery marketplace. "Crane employees are excited to join G&T Industries and become part of the ESOP experience" states Chris Anderson, Crane Interiors General Manager.
Per G&T's President/CEO Roland Grit, "since Crane has been a customer of G&T for many years the people in both businesses know each other very well." Crane Interiors has 190 current employees who have now joined the G&T family. Grit also commented "The acquisition allows G&T to move up the value chain within the marine industry and the Values fit between the two organizations is solid which should support a smooth business transition."
